Harry Ferguson talk

Back in 2025, during the development of the Dromore Place Plan, the Community Planning Team at Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council engaged extensively with residents to gather views on how the town could be improved. Under the Historic Dromore outcome, one of the priorities identified was the desire for more history-focused and educational talks.

To address this action and to raise awareness of our local heritage heroes, Harry Ferguson. ‘Harry Ferguson: The life and times of one the world’s greatest innovators’ led by John Barron explored the life and story of Harry Ferguson who was born near Dromore. Over 150 people attended this event and part of the opening address, Heritage Places team shared the draft heritage strategy and encouraged participants to complete the online survey as part of the public consultation period.
