HERITAGE PLACES Events

Culture in the Park

Saturday 29 March 2025

On Saturday 29 March, we attended ABC’s Culture in the Park as part of their community engagement programme. Our newly created mobile museum cart was used as an engagement piece to ask attendees to define Heritage and what was important to pass onto the next generation. These questions asked were the same as we asked in the initial consultation drop ins. We specifically chose these questions as we wanted to ensure that data collected could be measured against as a baseline and added to the drop in evaluation which is to feature with the ABC Heritage Strategy.

We learnt that:

  • Heritage can be diverse and inclusive. It is not just one nationalities’ heritage but rather a shared inclusive heritage for all.
  • Heritage can be associated with music, history, traditions and community values such as respect, humour and community.

Thank you to all those who spoke to the Heritage Places team and shared their thoughts on what Heritage means to them.
